We recently contracted with Redgwell Construction Ltd. to do a major renovation of our second floor premises. The work included the removal of a common hallway and some individual offices and convert to the premises to a more open area facility to meet the needs of one tenant. This also included a reception area that would accommodate visitors to our business services, wealth management and leasing departments.

We were very pleased with the overall quality of the construction, including the minimal displacement of staff and interuption of of our operations. Lyle Redgwell and his staff were most professional and helpful from all standpoints of the construction - all areas were cleaned up every evening, sub-trades were expected to be there on time with little material left around to create any hazards and they helped our staff relocate to temporary premises while they renovated their area with minimal disruption.

As Mr. Redgwell had done a few smaller jobs for us and came highly recommended to us by a facility planner that we often use, we contracted with them on a cost plus basis. The project was approximately $200,000.00 and we were satisfied that every effort was made to control our overall cost.

If you are planning a custom renovation or the building of a new home and are looking for a quality construction firm, I would recommend, without reservation, that you do not look any further and proceed to hire Redgwell Construction for your work.

By way of background, we asked a few separate references in Kelowna and Vernon for their referral for a general contractor. Our top two criteria were honesty and quality of work, and Redgwell Construction was the contractor to whom we were referred.

We ended up doing a complete custom renovation of a twenty-year house, effectively gutting the entire structure. The project involved installing new windows and doors throughout, removing several support beams and reinserting I-beams to span the width of the house, adding a portion of a second floor, removing the existing stairwells and replacing them with new custom-designed stairs, rewiring, replumbing and refinishing the entire house. Other than the exterior walls and the roof, very little of the original structure remains.

Through the entire process, we were on site very little, and most updates were provided by way of photos or email. When design decisions arose, they were quickly communicated to us, so that the project generally stayed on track from start to finish. At the end of the day, the project was completed in a highly professional manner on the original time line that we had agreed on, and the overall quality of the work is impressive.
